Snacks Without Guilt

Don’t be fooled by the snacks you can buy that are low-fat, one hundred calories, or basically, just plain junk. Don’t eat anything that doesn’t help your body. Learn to make eating about your body’s needs and don’t just grab something because you’re hungry. Make almost every calorie count. (You just have to have a little chocolate sometimes!)

Always have fruit in the house. Fresh, frozen, canned without sugar. It doesn’t matter. Plain yogurt can be mixed with just about any fruit for a quick pick-me-up. Add a few nuts and the taste is wonderful. Don’t save grapefruit for just breakfast. Eat it for snacks too!

Speaking of fruit, berries are wonderful. You can use them to make a quick smoothie, add them to that yogurt in the fridge, add them to cereal for a granola-like snack or fill up and cup and eat away.

There are a few low calorie fiber bars that fill you quickly for a few calories and offer you other “results” later in the day if you drink lots of water. The combination of the fiber and the water give you a full feeling and far outweigh the calories of a regular snack bar.
